Essentials for the essentials

When it comes to making your own essential oil recipes, there's a container for everything! Below is a list for your staple products, with the option to buy in bulk so you can stock up for gifts or to make samples for friends. My favorite containers are the cobalt blue ones (so pretty!)...my general thinking is cobalt for beauty products and amber for cleaning products. Please note that there are a few different companies that I'm linking to throughout this post.

Here goes...

Drams // use to keep samples in purse, or use to giveaway samples.
Dropper drams (5/8ml/40 drops, 12/pk) :: click here

Spray bottles // I love the cobalt jars and containers & use them for beauty and the amber for cleaning, I also opt for the white top because I think it's cleaner looking and prettier, of course :)

Essential Oils: Help! What carrier oils should I use??

Are you just learning about essential oils and keep reading the word carrier oil? Or are you trying to figure which carrier oils are what? If you are new to the amazing world of essential oils (welcome!), carrier oils are the base oil that helps dilute essential oils before you use or apply them so they aren't so potent. They help safely "carry" the oil, however you use them.

Ok, so which is which?? I've made a list below of the ones I started with. These carrier oils are really my go-to's, I'll add to it if I try others but really there is no need to complicate things! This selection really covers the basics for getting started without getting overwhelmed.

I've included a general price guide to for each oil too. Read list below:

About Essential Oils: Research, research, research

Are you [still] skeptical about essential oils? I will admit I was very, let's say, curious when I first heard about them and after doing HOURS of research I finally decided to give them a try. I mean, what did I have to lose, especially after reading so much about toxins in products I consume??

Before I start, I need to make it clear that I am not a doctor. I can and will not guarantee anything about using essential oils. Your choice to use essential oils is your choice and just because certain essential oils work for someone, does not mean they will work for you. Everyone is different and will respond differently to essential oils, just like in the world of modern medicine. Part of the challenge and fun is researching natural remedies, listening to other's experiences and ultimately being in control of what you consume.

Scandinavian farmhouse style from IKEA

After spending some time in the Netherlands I came back with a whole new sense of design and style and I don't know how I've lived without it! It's a twist of modern meets the old world, it's simple, it's neutral and it's lovely. Mix whites and creams with woods and textiles to create this classic look.
